No Boundaries

(The video may show something about love but, who cares, I have a different interpretation of the song. Hehe :D)

Seconds, hours, so many days
You know what you want, but how long can you wait?
Every moment last forever.
When you feel you've lost your way.

Everyone of us has a goal, a goal that could probably get us to what we really want. But achieving a goal is not that easy. Of course time will come that you'll actually ask yourself, "where and when will I start?". This is a challenge. Deciding when and where will you start to attain your aim.

What if my chances were already gone?
I started believing that I could be wrong.
But you give me one good reason.
To fight and never walk away.

Time will also come that we will feel hopeless. What if's start to invade your mind. We're afraid to take risks and face the consequences. But every time you feel desperate and downhearted, there is always a thing or a person that would lift and cheer you up, to say things that would lighten up your mind and make you realize that you should fight and conquer life.

I fought to the limit, to stand on the edge
What if today is as good as it gets?
Don't know where the future's heading
But nothing's gonna bring me down
I've jumped every bridge and I've run every line
I risked being safe but I always knew why
So here I am, still holding on

None of us knows what future would bring us. No one's certain on what you will be. No one's hundred percent sure if you'll be successful or you'll suffer after some time. But this fact shouldn't be a reason for us not to give our best in everything we do. We need to cope with the challenges for us to be able to overcome fears, uncertainty and anxiety. Just what I said, we need to take risks to be able to move forward. If doubts would fill our minds, nothing will happen in your life.

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing.

Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can
There are no boundaries.

We really want to achieve what we want. So in order to fulfill this aim,  we do whatever it takes. But it is not easy. Things get complicated as time goes on. But you should be resilient, you should stand strong. Do not let anything or anyone stop you from doing what you want. Live your life to the fullest. When chances are displayed, grab it and learn from it. There are no boundaries between you an your dreams when you won't let anything to be one. You need to learn and level up in every trials you face. Remember that challenges exist with life itself. It's a test to be passed, a game to conquer.

The Human Octopus and Scissorhands

I would like to tell you a secret. I know you are curious about this. Come, I'll whisper it to you. Just promise me you won't tell anyone about this, okay?

Well, this might be funny but I want to tell you that... I literally know two superheroes! Yes, there are real superheroes! One of these superheroes is male, and the other one is female.

The male superhero I know is ready with fighting gears. I call him Scissorhands. His fighting gears are a pair of scissors, a comb and a clipper! He wakes up early in the morning, rides on his red motorcycle and attends his Super Barber Shop! Sin-stained demons with long, thick hair enter the Super Barber Shop once in a while. But the male superhero is always ready to fight each beast's hair. He does nothing but cut their hair and put style on it for swag. At the end of the day, this male superhero kills the long, thick hair of about 5-10 beasts each day. I witness how tired he is every night when he comes to visit me at my house. He even has time for giving me some food, biscuits and snacks when he is at my little house. Oh, how I love this male superhero!

Oops, that's not the end yet. I know another superhero. But this one's a female. This female superhero also wakes up very early in the morning. Actually, she's a flexible human octopus. Yes, you heard me right! A flexible human octopus! She cooks, she washes the dishes, she cleans the house, she washes the clothes, she teaches me regarding school, she folds my clothes, she buys grocery and she even has time for teaching students regarding religion. Everything at once. She's a real superhero. I love this female superhero, too!

Do you believe in me? I'm saying real things. Superheroes do exist!

"Belle, wake up! Time for school. Come and eat your breakfast here," my mom said.
"Here's your allowance. Don't spend it for senseless things, okay? I worked hard for that," my dad said.

I do know who the real superheroes are. They just called me for breakfast. So, were you fascinated with my secret? Goodbye, friend!

Oh, I almost forgot. Those superheroes are my parents. ;)

Remember Me

I’m not the kind of person who is known for an excellent deed like saving one’s life from death or an individual who contributed a bunch of honor for his country. I’m also not the oh-so-perfect daughter nor the model student who always obeys her parents and avoids act of rebellion towards the school rules.  I’m just the typical high school girl who walks through the pathway, hoping that weekends will move closer so I could sleep with my fluffy pillows. Nothing is really special about me. But of course the fact that everybody wants to have his own trademark, or should I say legacy, is still present in my mind. And I want to have one, too.

Most people want to be remembered at their best – being the best singer in their school, the most productive president in a particular club, having the greatest achievements in Math, Science and English or even the best joker in class. Seriously, let us not pretend to be the good person everyone expects us to be. We ourselves know that our attainments on Earth matters to us. We think most of the time that we should perform our best in a certain situation, for us to leave a legacy in one’s heart. This thing also comes into my mind, but I don't want to be remembered just because of my outside triumphs.

I'm not the type of person who everyone loves and I do know that. I do not want to please others just to have a clean reputation. Being true to myself is what matters to me the most. And when people would talk about me in the future, I want them to recall Jobelle as a true person who stood strong despite of what others think about her. Lastly, I want to be reminisced as a perfectly imperfect person.

White Flower

A white flower always remembers a line
They constantly told her
"You're going to enjoy high school,"
They assured her.

And yes, indeed, she adored her earliest days in high school
But a thought came into the little flower's mind,
That hindrances are just bide one's time,
just behind these cheerful memories, waiting for the right timing.

So young, so innocent, so pure
She could actually picture herself
When she was still a newbie,
So shy to face the crowd, fainthearted to participate in various activities.
But time was so fast,
So fast that she did not even notice
Comfortable feeling's growing, she was starting to consider that place
As her second home.

I would literally describe the next stage
As the time where butterflies started to give colors in the white flower's life
Friends are the yellow ones, difficult people are the black ones.
"That white flower smells real bad,"
Lies the black butterflies spread throughout the garden, oh truly falsities
Made the little flower feel small yet verily mettle.
Despite all of these, the blossom found its way to victory
And realize that you can't really please others.

The white flower's high school journey continues
Learning pieces of lore each day for her future,
Standing real sturdy, unbreakable.
As of this time, she is currently encoding this thing,
And yes, that white flower is simply me.

A Blessing

"Hey, wake up Belle! Come on, you sleepyhead! It's your first day in school, oh God! It's already 5:00 AM, you're supposed to be in the bathroom and taking a quick bath!"

I still remember my Mom's dialogue while waking me up last June 2, Monday - my first day of being a Junior student at Cavite National Science High School. I stood up lazily from my bed and went to the bathroom with my eyes closed. While taking a bath, random classroom scenes were playing inside my head.

I was there on a corner, sitting on my wooden chair, daydreaming. Suddenly, I heard someone called out my name. "Ms. Dajac, translate the sentence 'I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up, my friend.' into Spanish." I glanced at my teacher who was looking at me intensely. And I answered, not even thinking of what to say, "Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters, Ma'am."

After some time, I found myself walking through the not-so-wide gates of CNSHS, holding the straps of my beige-colored bag tightly. My heart's beating so fast like I was chased by a large bulldog. I kept on whispering some chants like "Hoo! I will survive, yeah!" and "Kaya mo 'to, Jobelle!" while walking. I went to the Maliksi Building smiling widely and my classmates, specifically my close friends, gave me a warm hug. Suddenly, I don't really know why, but with that hug from my friends, I felt like looking forward of what my Junior life would bring me.

Honestly, I didn't expect that my first 7 days of being a Grade 9 student would be a week full of new experiences. Monday, we just had some introduction thingies to know more about ourselves. From Tuesday to Wednesday morning, we spent our day in answering every subject's Diagnostic Test. That was really frustrating answering those questions I haven't encountered before. Wednesday afternoon, June 4 - this is the day that I will never ever forget. Because June 4 brought me the most perplexing thing (well, I must say that it is) in my Junior life. Being the newly-elected president of the YES-O Club this school year is the most surprising experience I had for this week. Yes, school-level president. Even once in my life, I didn't imagine myself leading a school level club, proposing new events and such things a leader is consigned to do. I know this is just one of the numerous challenges I would face in my Grade 9 life and seriously, I don't really have enough courage to work on all of the things I must do. Well, I just hope that God will help me with all of these things.

Friday, around 3:45 in the afternoon,  I remembered Ma'am Maye saying this thing - "Compose a descriptive essay regarding your first week of being a Junior student here in CavSci". The first thing that came into my mind that would actually describe my first week of being a Junior, is blessing. I believe that it was really a blessing because this week brought me challenges that would enhance my skills and would give me chances to prove myself to everyone that I can be more than I was before. I hope that each day of this school year will help me improve myself and... that my teachers would have a long patience in the whole year because I know that they will also have a hard time, eventually. And yes, good luck to me! AJA! :))
